"We were a very close knit bunch,we worked hard and played even harder. We went out of our way to keep things family oriented, many of the people were in their early 20's and this was their first time out of the 'States. There was a great deal to do around Prum, besides drink. Swatzerman ski resort was 300 yards down the road from the front gate of the site. Directly across the road from the site were dense woods filled with deer, quale, grouse, wild turkeys and huge wild boar. You couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting trout filled streams and ponds. And for history nuts like me there was a trail that began directly across the road from the front gate and went for hundreds of miles, the trail connected all of the WW II German bunkers together, some of which were still intact and you could go into them, and anti-tank traps and 'Tigers Teeth'."
